Pre-Wax Etiquette for Brazilian and Modern Bikini

Okay ladies, when it comes to pre-wax etiquette for your Brazilian or Modern (Modified) Bikini wax I think plenty of you have questions on what you should or shouldn't do. Some of you even worry about how “fresh” you are when you come in for your Brazilian or Modern Bikini wax. So here's my take on it, what can help you out…. and also what not to worry about in your wax.

The length of the hair is pretty much #1 most important.  If the hair is too short you wont get a clean wax, and it will hurt WAY worse. We need the hair to be as long as a grain of rice or slightly longer. This is roughly about a quarter of an inch long.

On the other side of that - if the hair is too long the service can take longer than needed and also be more uncomfortable than need be.  So if the hair is too long we may need to be trimmed otherwise it will get matted or caught in the wax when we don’t want it to be.

We do have the ability to trim the hair if it is too long so don’t worry about that either. If the trimming is done here at the spa we will use a comb and scissors which would prolong how much time is needed to complete the service.  I don't know about you but when I have a wax I like to be in and out!

How long is too long? Anything longer than 1 inch is too long. That is typically about 2-3 month’s of growth.

If you trim at home you can also use a comb and scissors or a bikini trimmer.  The bikini trimmers work great because they are electric and most come with a guard so not only are you protected but you can gauge the length of hair.  Whatever you do - don’t trim too short or we won’t be able to do our best job!

You’re a busy babe and might not be coming straight from home right out of the shower.   Don’t worry about that oh so “fresh” feeling.  Really don’t worry, we have baby wipes that you can freshen up with prior to your wax. We just ask that you wear a tampon if you are on your period.

Long story short, we’ve been doing this for a while and we’ve seen it ALL. Just make sure your hair is long enough (but not too long) and we’ll handle the rest! see you in the spa!
