How to Find an Amazing Lash Artist

So you're thinking of getting lash extensions. Congrats, girl! That's a big deal and shouldn't be taken lightly!

If you’re new to lash extensions, you will want to find a lash artist that is perfect for you.

Start off by doing your own research. You can do this through word of mouth, by asking friends/family who have lash extensions or just by typing it into your search bar or on social media!

Here are some suggestions to search:

  • Peoria lash extensions near me

  • Natural looking eyelash extensions in Peoria IL

  • Peoria Illinois safe volume lash extensions

Most lash artists keep a portfolio of before and after pictures of their lash clients. These pictures should be personalized so you know they didn’t come straight from the internet.

You will be able to see quality work by looking at the numerous photos these artists post. Some great places to look for an artist's proof of work is Instagram, Facebook and the lash artist's website.

What to look for in photos:

Look to see how much adhesive (glue) is used on the client. If there are clumps of glue, you know the lash artist is using too much.

This will result in your false lashes falling out and possible damage to your natural lash.

Check to see if there are any big gaps in the lashes. Lash extensions should flow naturally with your natural lash so the artist should put lashes throughout the whole lash line.

A false lash is applied in a 1:1 ratio (Classic) or a 3:1 ratio (Volume) to the natural lash. If you see lashes stuck together this could mean the lash artist didn’t isolate the lash before applying the false lash.

If it’s cheap, RUN:

If you find a lash artist with extremely low prices, chances are you won’t receive the best results. Lashes are expensive because you are paying for both time and quality.

License, license, license:

If there is one thing you take away from this blog, it's make sure that your lash artist is licensed!

This could be either an Esthetician license or a Cosmetologist license. Your lash artist should be able to show proof of their license.

Good lash extensions aren’t cheap so make sure you go to the right person.
