Why is Vitamin C So Important?

I love love love Vitamin C. It does so many things for the skin.

I feel like it has only become a popular skincare step in the last few years. However, if people had more education on it, they would have been using it for years.

Besides SPF its the #1 treatment product that can be used during the day. It's actually most beneficial during the A.M. hours, in my professional opinion.

Vitamin C does amazing things for the skin. It helps brighten the skin and even out the complexion. It gives you the GLOW people are begging to have! People who struggle with hyperpigmentation swear by Vitamin C.

The particular Vitamin C that we carry here at The Beach House also has Hyaluronic Acid in it, often referred to as HA. Hyaluronic Acid will help rebuild the elastin and collagen in the skin. This will smooth out fine lines wrinkles, while also hydrating the skin.

It also contains Vitamin E which is not only hydrating, but is an excellent soother for the skin. It will help calm inflammation and any redness you may have.

One of the coolest things Vitamin C does is protect your skin from free radicals that we run into in our daily lives. It works similar to SPF in a way that it creates a barrier or guard over the skin, but you should know it only protects the skin from free radicals in the atmosphere and not UVA/B rays.

You might ask, “What is a free radical?”. Free radicals are all around us. It includes of pollution, pesticides, tobacco smoke, and the list goes on. When you are out and about your skin is susceptible to all of this. All of these pollutants can age or weather the skin causing you to look older than you may be.

When you use Vitamin C your skin will thank you for protecting it from all the harmful things we come in contact with on a daily basis. I love Vitamin C for this reason! It's amazing to think that one ingredient can do ALL of that.

I hope I've convinced you to run out and grab our 20% packed Vitamin C! Especially with the sun we get here in Peoria (or Central Illinois in general!) you won’t regret using some Vitamin C!

We will see you in the spa!
