Products To Avoid If You Have Lash Extensions
Lash extensions. Ahhhhh. Waking up already prepped and ready for the day, everyday!
Your luscious lash extensions will last you two to three weeks before you’re ready for a fill again! Maintenance is minimal but there are some things you’ll want to avoid in order to have the best retention possible!
Oil products
You’ll want to avoid any and all oils around your eye area!
Oil will cause the bonds of the adhesive on your lash extensions to break down. The more the bonds break down the more lashes you’ll have fall out over time.
Oils can be found in some moisturizers, serums, soaps, and makeup. It’s best to only use what’s needed around your eye area, such as an eye cream and cleanse your lashes daily.
Oils will naturally build up on the roots of lashes, cleansing them daily with a lash lather and fluffy brush will help wash away a day's worth of oils and buildup leaving you with clean lashes with a strong bond!
Mascara
You’ll also want to avoid applying mascara when you have lash extensions. I know it can be tempting to throw some mascara on when you’re past due for a fill but you must fight the temptation.
Mascara is notorious for breaking the bond of lash extension adhesive. Application of mascara on lash extensions will have you going from needing a fill to needing a full set… Not to mention it will clump your lash extensions together giving them an unkempt look.
Protect your lashes and your investment too to avoid damaging your lash extensions!
