There are 3 main ingredients in fighting acne. Mandelic acid, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. Each helps control your acne, but these ingredients are meant for certain clients.
Which client are you?
You may be thinking, “How can I even tell what client I am?”. Well, that’s just what your Esty is here for!
If you have oily skin or mild acne then salicylic acid is for you.
Salicylic acid is an exfoliant so it helps break down dead skin cells and oil in your pores to rid of clogged pores. It helps neutralize the bacteria in your pores to reduce further breakouts. This ingredient targets white heads and blackheads.
Here at The Beach House we offer a variety of products that contain salicylic acid. The ones that I personally recommend are our Corrective Scrub and our Anti-Blemish Treatment.
The Corrective Scrub is great at diving deep into those pores and clearing them out while also keeping your skin hydrated. The Anti-Blemish Treatment is a great spot treatment to get rid of those stubborn pimples. Both of these products contain salicylic acid.
If you have dry or sensitive skin then mandelic acid is for you.
Mandelic acid is also an exfoliant, but much gentler than salicylic. It helps regulate oil production while removing dead skin cells. It will dive deep into your pores to unclog them making for a great aid in fighting acne.
Mandelic acid can also be used for those that are trying to improve their skin texture or have acne scarring.
At The Beach House, mandelic acid is one of our most popular products!
We think the best way to treat your acne is with this particular ingredient. We carry Mandelic Acid in our cleansers, toners, and serums.
A few beach babe faves are the Mandelic 10% Serum and the Mandelic Toner! Both are great at targeting current breakouts and preventing new ones from forming.
If you have moderate to severe acne or inflammatory acne then benzoyl peroxide is for you.
Benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial so it kills acne causing bacteria in the pores. It will also help aid in inflammation. This ingredient can be very drying so if you have sensitive skin this is not the product for you.
The two main products we carry with benzoyl peroxide are BPO Scrub and BPO 10%. The first is a cleanser that we recommend for our clients that really struggle with breakouts all over and the second is a spot treatment that removes bacteria with less irritation.
Each of these ingredients can be found in cleansers, scrubs, toners, and serums!
