What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?

Looking for brighter skin? Needing help with treating acne scarring? Wanting an exfoliation of dead skin cells? Thinking of a smoother, more even skin texture?

A microdermabrasion treatment is the answer for you!

A microdermabrasion treatment works by exfoliating away the very top layer of our skin.

The treatment removes 20% of our epidermis gently carrying away the lifeless skin cells that lie on the skin’s surface revealing softer, smoother, brighter skin.

The treatment does so by using tiny diamond cut crystals that gently expel from a handheld device.

While these crystals come through the device and against the surface of your skin, a slight suction will occur simultaneously. The work of the crystals with the addition of the suction will be the super pair that makes this treatment so beneficial.

There are a plethora of amazing benefits of a microdermabrasion treatment, although, the service may not be a good fit for every client, so let’s first touch on some clients the treatment wouldn’t be the best for.

We would NOT recommend a microdermabrasion treatment to:

  • A client with a present sunburn

  • A client with active acne breakouts at the time of treatment

  • A client with with active skin irritation such as a rash or wound

  • A client who has a had a botox and  or filler procedure in the last two weeks

  • A client who has used a topical acne medication and or retinoid in the last week

Now that we’ve touched base on some of the contraindications of the treatment, so that you can best plan and prepare for yours, let’s get to the good stuff and touch on some of the benefits!

A microdermabrasion treatment would be fantastic for:

  • A client with mild acne

  • A client with mild acne scarring

  • A client with textured skin looking for a smoother appearance

  • A client looking to fade away hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and or age spots

  • A client struggling with product penetration due to an abundance of dead skin cells

Microdermabrasion is a very exfoliating yet gentle treatment.

Sometimes all we need is a bit more help with exfoliation to guide us towards our skincare goals.

This service will no doubt work towards leaving you with an overall improved look whether you have a specific skin concern you’re wanting to improve on or you are just simply on the search for an effective service to leave you with an overall brighter glow within your skin!
