Do you *REALLY* have blackheads on your nose?!

You know those pesky little dots you see on your skin? We all get them, but do you really know what they are?

Most people think they have black heads when really it’s just sebaceous filament.

Don't worry, I’ll explain more!

Blackheads are a form of acne. They happen when your pore is clogged with dead skin, oil, and bacteria. Blackheads can appear anywhere on your skin and are characterized by a black dot.

Sebaceous filament isn’t harmful to your skin in any way. It is just a build up of dead skin and oil. They mainly appear in your T-Zone or oily parts of your skin and characterized more as a yellow or gray dot.

Blackheads should be removed, whereas, sebaceous filament doesn’t need to be.

Sebaceous filament will ALWAYS come back. It can be reduced by exfoliating your skin frequently to remove dead skin cells and slow down oil production.

If you try extracting sebaceous filament or your blackheads it can do more damage than good. If not done properly it can lead to scarring or the spreading of bacteria so we suggest leaving that to your skin specialist!

If you want an awesome product to help reduce the look of your sebaceous filaments we recommend our Corrective Scrub. If you want to schedule an appointment to have them evaluated by a professional or removed (extracted) then a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial is exactly what you need!

If you have any questions about whether you actually have black heads just come in to the spa and we will help you out.
