How can a facial reduce the signs of aging?

You’d be amazed at the amount of people I speak with that say they've never had a facial. It really shocks me!

People keep up on hair cuts, color, nails so why wouldn't you do the same for our skin? After all, it is the biggest organ of the body so you should treat it well.

The anti-aging benefits of a professional grade facial are boundless. Consistency is key with facials. You have to stick with it and be faithful to the advice of your esthetician.

As we age the skin often shows signs of discoloration, acne scarring, dead skin cell build up, fine lines and wrinkles.

We recommend getting consistent facials each month to help treat these issues. I believe getting a facial about every 4-6 weeks is the best thing you can do for your skin.

When you come in for a professional grade facial several treatments are done that are not a common practice at home. Some of these treatments include, deep cleansing, masks, extractions, high frequency, LED therapy, chemical peels, enzyme exfoliation and lymphatic massage.

One of the most important benefits of these treatments is product penetration. When the skin is professionally exfoliated during a facial the products you use at home will penetrate deeper into the skin and the results will be more noticeable.

Impurities will also be removed from the skin leaving it with a more youthful appearance.

If you aren't sure which treatments would benefit your specific needs or aging concerns let me break it down for you.

Deep cleansing, extractions and high frequency are going to be most beneficial for people with recurring breakouts or adult acne. These treatments clean out the pores and kill any existing bacteria that may be causing breakouts.

LED therapy works on all skin types but can be set to a specific color depending on the issue.  Blue light helps with adult acne and breakouts. Red light is anti-aging and helps heal scars.  Green is  anti-inflammatory. Yellow works best for our rosacea clients.

Chemical peels and enzyme exfoliation are going to target pigment, fine lines, and superficial wrinkles that occur with aging. These deep exfoliants shed away dull dark pigmented skin and allow for your skincare products to penetrate much deeper into the skin.

Masks often have a more potent dose of ingredients such as glycolic or kojic acid that lighten the skin as it sits.

Lastly, lymphatic massage will stimulate the skin and face muscles giving you a plump youthful glow.

Getting regular monthly professional grade facials will NO DOUBT help turn back the clock and your skin will begin to heal itself.

We can't wait to see you in the spa for your next facial or maybe even your first facial!
